DTS, GDC, and B&B Continue Partnership to Bring 14 More DTS:X Enabled Theaters
We are excited to announce DTS will extend our long-standing partnership with GDC Technology LLC and B&B Theatres. 14 new B&B theatres will soon be equipped to pair DTS:X immersive sound technology with GDC’s Immersive Sound Solutions, enabling a premium movie goer experience to viewers across North America.
The continued alliance comes after an initial successful beta theatre which paired DTS:X sound with ScreenX 270-degree visual technology to audiences at the B&B Liberty, Missouri location. This partnership extension will include 4 new ScreenX theatres as well as 10 GRAND SCREEN® premium large format (PLF) rooms.
“We are pleased to continue our relationship with B&B and GDC to provide more people with exhilarating, lifelike theatrical experiences,” said H. Loren Nielsen, vice president, content relations and strategy at DTS. “Our DTS:X audio technology puts viewers directly in the scenes they are watching. This level of immersion is what we think all moviegoers should enjoy.”
The first of 14 theatres to roll out will open late Spring 2019 in B&B’s Overland Park, Kansas location, with custom low-profile speakers under the screens with DTS:X audio suite fully enabled.
