iBiquity Digital and TagStation Unveil World’s First Automotive Platform Converging Digital Radio Broadcasting and Mobile Application Technologies

2015 International CES Show, Las Vegas, NV – January 5, 2015iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD RadioTM Technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, and TagStation, the developers of the NextRadio® platform, announced today the launch of their first joint product demonstrating the benefits of  interactive digital radio in a connected car.   

The demonstration platform is the first combination of both analog and HD Radio® broadcasting with NextRadio® services.   It will showcase the benefits of the “Connected Car” combining free over-the-air broadcast radio services with the elegant visual and digital capabilities of the NextRadio app.  The combined technologies will deliver a highly personalized and contextual suite of services to the car radio platform enabling a level of engagement, programming information and interactivity never before available for local radio services.

iBiquity Digital’s HD Radio®, a digital technology that enables radio broadcasters to offer unique FM content via HD2/HD3 channels, crystal-clear sound on both the AM and FM bandwidths – all free and with no subscriptions to radio listeners.

TagStation’s NextRadio® innovative, cross- platform technology extends from smartphones, tablets, and now to the automotive dash transforming radio broadcasts into a visually engaging and interactive experience.

Unveiling the world’s first prototype automotive platform that combines the companies’ respective technologies, iBiquity Digital and TagStation’s CES exhibit comes four months after the companies initially announced their joint development agreement.  CES will serve as a platform to showcase the consumer benefits of digital broadcasting coupled with contextual, IP delivered services to automotive and consumer electronics product planners and developers.

The convergence of these technologies will be showcased at the International CES on Tuesday, January 6 – Friday, January 9, 2015 at booth # 8232 at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s Central Hall.

The International CES is the world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It has served as the proving ground for innovators and breakthrough technologies for more than 40 years.
