DTS AT THE SONY DRIVE IN
On Friday August 28th, DTS and IMAX Enhanced launched an exciting integration with the popular Sony Drive-In Experience on the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City. The partnership kicked off with Spider-man Far From Home and, Spider-man Home Coming, which ran over the weekend.
DTS quickly jumped in to support Sony on the activation, running pre-show trivia before the movies and giving away prizes to participants via the DTS Instagram account. Attendees even received complimentary window washing to ensure the viewing experience from their car was as clear as the picture on screen.
Sony launched the Drive-In Experience earlier in August and sold out the entire run of catalog titles in 24 hours. Given that many of the titles have IMAX Enhanced by IMAX & DTS versions on digital platforms such as FandangoNOW and Sony Privilege 4K – it is a very natural partnership. The drive-in accommodates around 75 cars, giving a few lucky guests the opportunity to get out of the house and safely enjoy a movie night on a historic studio lot. All-in-All the Sony Drive-In Experience has been a hit, look for future announcements coming soon.
