Event Recap: Xperi at SET Expo 2024
August 20-22 Sao Paulo, Brazil
Xperi participated in SET Expo 2024, an event that gathers experts from the TV, content production, and radio industries in Brazil. The expo took place at the Centro de Convenções I e II – Distrito Anhembi in Sao Paulo.
This is the first time that Xperi has participated in SET Expo and we had both a booth and speakers in a panel with radio experts. Xperi’s broadcast solutions were promoted during the event; specifically, our discussions focused on broadcasters and the main radio associations such as ABERT and AESP on HD Radio and the status of digital radio standard adoption in Brazil. We also showcased DTS AutoStage and its benefits for both stations and listeners.
Fabián Zamarrón, responsible for the business development of Xperi in Mexico and LATAM, participated in the panel “Radio, Internet and Podcasts: A Bridge to the Future” along with Giovana Alcantara, Director of Kantar IBOPE Media, and Igor Macabus, Director of Digital Products at Globo – one of the biggest broadcasters in Brazil. Fabian´s talk focused on how DTS AutoStage puts radio in a privileged place in the car dashboard, offering listeners a user experience never seen before. He also shared the statistics that the portal offers about the behavior of the audiences in terms of reach, the interaction between users and their favorite stations, what the listeners are listening to, the location of users, and what listeners’ favorite songs and shows.
Fabian´s talk was very well received by the audience. Some comments among them were that DTS AutoStage put the radio industry on the same competitive footing as other digital entertainment options available to consumers in the car. In the last few days, more Brazilian broadcasters have onboarded to our connected car platform.
