The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, and directed by Francis Lawrence, will be exhibited in next-generation DTS:X sound in select theaters beginning on Friday, November 21.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 will be exhibited in DTS:X immersive sound at the MuviCo 14 (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Regal Moorestown Mall Stadium 12 and RPX (Moorestown, NJ), Cleveland – UEC Theaters 14 (McDonald, Tenn.), Brenden Theater (at the Palms Las Vegas) and The Movie Experience (San Luis Obispo, Calif.). An additional 12 screens are currently under construction to add DTS:X and are scheduled to open by mid-December.
Additional titles are forthcoming through the end of the year and into Q1 2016 and will be announced when ready. American Ultra was the first film to be exhibited in DTS:X in the U.S., following two films released in DTS:X at theaters in several major cities in China this summer. Sicario and The Last Witch Hunter have also been exhibited in DTS:X in the U.S.
By installing DTS:X-approved equipment that renders MDA files and plays audio in theaters outfitted within the DTS:X speaker configuration guidelines, theater owners can provide their audiences with the most compelling, immersive sound experience possible. The system’s inherent flexibility provides exhibitors the ability to offer their customers a compelling immersive experience in any of their theaters regardless of size or configuration.
