DTS TO SHOWCASE LATEST AUDIO SOLUTIONS AT IBC 2016

IBC 2016, STAND 2.B50 Hall 2, AMSTERDAM (September 7, 2016)DTS, Inc. (NASDAQ: DTSI), a global leader in high-definition audio solutions, is proud to present its latest innovations at IBC 2016, September 9-13, in Amsterdam. The newly released DTS:X™ Encoder Suite for digital media content professionals will be showcased, as well as Manzanita Systems software updates, broadcast radio technologies and new VR audio solutions. Company representatives will be available to discuss these tools and technologies and provide demos.

The DTS:X tools allow digital media content professionals to create and QC DTS:X immersive audio. The DTS:X Encoder Suite includes the DTS:X Encoder and DTS:X MediaPlayer applications for Mac OS X. The DTS:X Encoder is a professional, stand-alone compression tool that allows users to produce immersive DTS content for Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray, as well as file-based and streaming media. Following the great success of the DTS-HD® MediaPlayer, the DTS:X MediaPlayer gives digital media content professionals the ability to test DTS audio against video prior to final multiplexing, authoring or packaging.

In addition, DTS will showcase updates for two Manzanita products. MP2TSME V8.1 improves transport stream multiplexing support for HEVC video, enhanced Closed Caption and DVB Subtitle handling, and more. MP4Mux V3 adds MP4 multiplexing support for HEVC, additional audio codecs including DTS:X, improved ability to repackage TS and MP4 files, encryption, timed text and more. 

DTS will also be demonstrating its Global Hybrid Radio reference platform for automobiles and mobile devices. This solution will support global radio standards including analog AM/FM, DAB/DAB+ and HD Radio broadcasting.

A new DTS VR audio solution featuring DTS Headphone:X® technology for Android and iOS in-app SDKs will also be demoed during IBC. DTS Headphone:X technology produces authentic, spatially accurate and immersive 3D sound through headphones and earbuds.

Net-M DOCOMO and SPB TV will be presenting DTS Headphone:X solutions for Android and iOS at their IBC booths as well.

New Set-Top Box Partners
Set-top boxes from leading European telecommunications providers Bouygues Telecom, Free, Orange and Swisscom have begun to feature integrated DTS decoders, enabling connected-home audio products to deliver high quality surround sound and lossless audio from physical and streaming media. The devices and DTS audio technologies include:

  • Bouygues Telecom Miami V2: DTS-HD®, DTS Neural Surround™ and DTS 2.0 + Digital Out
  • Free Freebox V7: DTS-HD Master Audio™, DTS Neural Surround and DTS 2.0 + Digital Out
  • Orange Livebox 4K: DTS-HD and DTS 2.0 + Digital Out
  • Swisscom TV 2.0: DTS 2.0 + Digital Out and DTS TruVolume™
