DTS Connected Car Recap from CES 2023

From a dazzling booth full of next-level demos to industry and press recognition, it was an outstanding CES 2023 for the Connected Car team.

Our booth was a truly a tech playground. From in-car demos, VR experiences and an original multimedia HMI platform in an OEM-grade hardware demonstrator, we brought DTS AutoSense™, DTS AutoStage™ and HD Radio™ to life in incredible ways. Watch this short recap video and read on to see how DTS are leading the way to a smarter, simpler, safer and more spectacular in-cabin experience.

DTS AutoSense + BMW iX @ CES

Visitors at the DTS Connected Car booth were able to climb inside BMW’s thrilling new all-electric iX and experience DTS’s pioneering approach to implementing an enhanced driver and occupancy sensing functionality within a single camera. Visitors were able to experience a host of features, including:

  • visual distraction
  • activity detection
  • hands on steering wheel detection
  • seat occupancy
  • seatbelt detection
  • face recognition
  • age and passenger classification
  • object detection

Deployed at the edge, DTS AutoSense allows all data to remain within the vehicle and doesn’t require cloud connectivity. Our driver and occupancy sensing solutions have lower system-level integration, calibration and installation costs as well. DTS AutoSense is also regulatory compliant in the world’s leading auto markets, such as Euro, NCAP and GSR.

DTS AutoStage Takes Center Stage

After recently launching in Mercedes, Hyundai, Genesis, Kia and a leading EV manufacturer, DTS AutoStage had an incredible showing at CES. The first truly global, personalized, content-first entertainment platform came to life in two incredible demo environments: A brand-new 2023 Hyundai Sonata, and our first-ever, reference HMI platform in an OEM-grade cockpit simulator.

Inside the Sonata, visitors first experienced how DTS AutoStage enhances radio display in the HMI and provides a live market guide. Then, our incredible, OEM-grade hardware demonstrator showcased a unified media interface that aggregates and personalizes podcasts, live radio, and video into a personalized, content-centric experience for each passenger.
Both the Hyundai experience and the cockpit simulator demonstrated how DTS AutoStage addresses the unique needs of automotive OEMs and their customers, and how it sets the standard for next-gen, AI-powered infotainment. By bringing flexible implementation and scalability, best-in-class security, and a dynamic, compelling in-dash user experience, DTS AutoStage is a game changer.

Garmin Impresses Using DTS Solutions

The Garmin Unified Cabin was a hit at CES, and DTS technology had our fingerprints all over their touchscreens, cameras and more.

Garmin’s cutting-edge product unifies multiple domains, touchscreens and wireless devices on a single SoC (system on chip), with critical aspects supported by both DTS AutoSense and DTS AutoStage.

We’re incredibly proud of our partnership with Garmin, and we’re so excited for the endless possibilities afforded by Garmin Unified Cabin. To learn more about it, be sure to read this Unified Cabin press release from Garmin.
