DTS Space with Big Grams
To celebrate Big Grams’ debut EP and their appearance on the cover of FLOOD 2, we welcomed the band to take over DTS Space at the FLOOD Gallery in Los Angeles to create an exclusive pop-up shop full of drool-worthy merchandise and surround sound listening experiences of each of their EP’s seven tracks.
Last week, to kick off the week-long event, DTS hosted a private opening reception for the pop-up shop with free drinks, great eats, and an intimate performance by the super group trio. After a couple of hours of fans and friends mingling, making gifs in the PHHHOTO booth, and perusing exclusive Big Grams gear, BigBoi and Phantogram greeted the packed-to-the-gills room with an infectious energy and a stellar mini-set full of tracks from Big Grams including “Run for Your Life,” “Drum Machine,” “Goldmine Junkie,” and “Fell In the Sun.” And while the crowd was elated just to be in the presence of these stars, Big Grams weren’t done making dreams come true. “We’ve got something special,” said Big Boi as he looked out at the steamy audience. “We’re going to do a mash-up for you right now!” Josh, Sarah, and Big launched into the soon-to-be classic blending of Phantogram’s “When I’m Small” and OutKast’s “Ms. Jackson,” while the entire FLOOD Gallery pogoed to the beat.
Even though the party is over, you can look at photos from the shindig below to relive every moment. Also, don’t forget to come buy Big Grams merch from the official pop-up shop! The store is open through Friday, October 23, between 12 and 6 p.m.
