2015 BMW 2 Series Convertible Hits Dealers With HD Radio™ Receivers Standard

Columbia, Maryland – March 31, 2015 – iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD Radio Technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, has announced that the 2015 BMW 2 Series Convertible is now at dealerships.  In addition to the 2 Series Convertible, the entire BMW vehicle line-up offers HD Radio receivers as standard equipment.  BMW was the first auto manufacturer to offer HD Radio Technology as a production feature on select 2006 models.

The HD Radio system is available across the U.S. and Mexico, with more than 2,300 digital stations on-air, and over 1,550 HD2/HD3 digital only channels that broadcast fresh new content that can only be heard with an HD Radio receiver. A sampling of the formats on these extra channels, which vary in different markets around the country, include Dance/Electronica, Bluegrass Country, Comedy, Local Music, Chill/Coffee Shop Music, South Asian, Talk, News, and Sports, to name just a few.  Over 25 Million HD Radio receivers are now in use.

All major auto manufactures incorporate HD Radio receivers in over 190 models with more than 95 models featuring HD Radio receivers as standard equipment.  Five automakers utilize the HD Radio system to deliver subscription-free Traffic & Data information to their vehicles.
